AN ERGONOMIC STUDY OF THE REV 360™ TRASH RECEPTACLE
The Potential to Reduce Injuries

An ergonomic study, conducted by the University of Minnesota, investigated the biomechanics of the emptying action for the REV 360™ compared to two traditional receptacles. The study revealed that the emptying of trash liners from the REV 360™ was associated with REDUCTIONS in:

• shoulder and lower back muscle activity (up to 64%)
• the necessary shoulder torques for lifting (60-80%)
• the necessary hip torques for lifting and trunk stabilization (~18%)
• the necessary shoulder flexion (vertical lifting action) (~26%)

It was concluded that the REV 360™ design has the potential to reduce lower back and shoulder injuries and to promote a healthy work place for janitorial workers.
